TN to Green Card process

I would like to thank all who offered me information about obtaining my TN a little while back (can't find the thread). I had a very difficult time with a lawyer who was attempting to get me GC status and failed to do so within the promised time frame (she made a lot of mistakes and caused delays). Because timing was an issue I had to settle for a TN. I've done a search to get info on applying for a green card through employment certification as my lawyer was trying to do but I can't seem to put the info together to form a plan to do this. I'm now on my own with this and am a little reluctant to hire another attorney because of what the last attorney cost me. My TN is valid until Sept. 17, 2008. Could I ask that someone explain to me what steps and in what order I should now take to apply for a GC.
Thanks
Jim

well, PERM regulation prohibits beneficiary (that would be you) to be involved in the application process. if they find out that you were involved in the PERM process, your application will be canceled. plus almost no one knows the details of PERM other than a experienced lawyer who will not share that information with any one. you need to find a lawyer who doesn't promise unbelievable. remember, immigration doesn't work for lawyers, they fight them. and anyone with a fair experience in immigration process, can tell you that when it comes to time frames, immigration is totally different and only god knows how long it takes for them to do something simple. so if a lawyer tells you a fix time frame on how long, i would run if i were you.
