TN Status: Technologist or Manager

Dear Friends,
I have a question about the TN Status category. I have been offered a job as a Development Manager, but the employer is refusing to issue me a letter with the word 'Managing consultant'. What are my options, I requested them to issue the letter as 'Technologist' but they insist on giving me a letter with the title as 'Technologist/Development Manager'. Will this pose an issue? If rejected what are my options.

Thanks very much in advance.
raine.

Thanks much for your reply. The company offered me a Development Manager position, wanted to get your recommendation on what job title on TN support letter would be most appropriate for the purpose of obtaining a TN visa.

Again appreciate your feedback.

So basically if you're a Development Manager you're stuck. Go work somewhere else - or get an H1B.

Better hurry quick as they are only available April 1 and will be gone after the first week. You'll have to wait another year after that.

When you say development manager, do you mean software development manager?

If so it does qualify. Software engineer is the category which covers all software engineer positions. Although, for ease of procuring the TN, it may be better to have a letter written just for the TN application that says software engineer. From the words of one of the people at the counter, it doesn't matter what title you use internally.

Have a TN for software manager position
