TN status question

I for my TN visa in Jan but due to certain reason I could join the company in Oct last year. Since then I have got TN extended. In between Jan and Oct I visited US as a visitor.

So have I broken any rules by joining company couple of months after having getting my initial TN ? I did get my TN renewed without any issues...
 
Jan to October is more than a "couple of months", but unless you actually spent time in US 'using' the TN to enter but not working, this is not a problem.

What would also have been a problem was if you entered as a tourist and then started working. If, in October, you entered on TN and then began to work, you are fine.

As you say, your TN has now been renewed so there is no issue in any event; its in the past.
