TN status for less than a year?

Are there any issues related to acquiring TN status for just a few months, or even just a few weeks? In my field (Graphic Design), freelance to full-time is fairly standard, so it may be essential for me to acquire a shorter-term TN (weeks, months) first before acquiring a longer-term TN (one-year).

You casn (and must) get a TN even to work one day. A firm usually asks for teh maximum 1-year to avoid needing to send worker back to the border.

A properly worded TN letter could cover both free-lance and employed sponsorship.
