Hey all,
I am in a bit of confusion and I am wondering if someone here can help clear the confusion.
For some background, I currently have a bachelor in technology degree from McMaster university in Canada (process engineering technology co-op) and I received a job offer as scada engineer in USA.
Now my issue is I don’t have bachelor’s degree in engineering do you think this will cause problem for me with cbp officers? I also have 5 years of experience in scada.
Thanks in advance.

You may want to invest in a TN lawyer to explore your options with.
"Scada Engineer" is not a job classification which qualifies for a TN permit.
You will need to apply for one of the listed classifications.
And you will need to demonstrate how your degree is directly relevant to that category

A lawyer experienced in making TN applications would probably be able to draft a persuasive support letter.

The other issue you face is that the DHS may decide that your degree is not an engineering degree, but rather a technologist degree, which may meke you fall in the SciTech classification.

I see, I will invest in a lawyer and see what they recommend. I don’t want to let this opportunity slide since it’s for a big Corp and the experience would be brilliant. Thank you both!
