My TN expires in april 2017. My lawyer told me that I can go to any port and apply for renewal now. But I heard that you are not allowed to go for renewal in person before 2 to 3 weeks of expiry. When I mentioned this to lawyer she told me that its not true and I can go now. Can somebody share their experience if they renewed at port of entry when the expiry is in 4 months. So confused. I know that we can apply mail in 6 months before. I am still debating whether to apply in person or mail in. Which one is a good choice?

if you have a solid package, I'd rather go to POE. Its probably best to go closer to the expiry date. Even if the POE were to give you the renewal 4-months before expiry, you would have lost out on 4-months of a previous authorization
