Tn renewal questions

Ok, I'm getting prepared to file for a 3 year TN extention.

The steps are to fill out the I-129, print it out, attach a $320 check, a copy of I94, a letter from employer describing the work and reason for extention, a copy of my resume/diploma....is there anything else I'm missing?

Much appreciated,

Monica

Would suggest that you send copy of all transcripts also.

BTW does your employment letter mention any "end" date ?

the resume is not needed? really?
what transcript are you referring to?

In the letter I was going to put something like this for the dates:

"COMPANY wishes to extend EMPLOYEE’s role as management consultant from Jan 18 2008 to Jan 17 2009. However if the 3-year extension option is in place we wish to ask for Jan 18 2008 to Jan 17 2011."

how does this sound?

A copy of the employer's I94 is also needed correct?

also, should I try to do it at the border as a back up? Or if i'm denied there does that cancel my application also?

thanks

hello? so thats it then? Why do I feel like i'm missing something? No resume needed? Before i seal the envolope....

help me Nelsona you're my only hope :)

You know this board has an edit feature.

Concise questions get better responses.

If you need to show experience to get TN (MC might need this) then resume is usually insufficient (you need experience LETTERS), otherwise, if experience is not needed, then resume is superfluous.

Transcripts are only helpful if your degree is unrelared to your tN. MC doesn't even need degree, so why transcipts?

Thank you nelsona, I'll try not to let panic affect my clarity.

If the employer is filing the I-129 extension form for the same job, it only asks for a new job letter basically. I even called USCIS and they said the "supplement material" does not apply in this case. But I'm still worried, I just want to make sure that I can file the form without a resume or proof of experience. Because I showed all that at POE to get my first TN. Wouldnt they have that on file?
So the question is has anyone been approved without providing the resume/degree?

The guy on the phone was wrong. You need to send the same initial evidence you used to obtain your original TN. If you got it at the border, they have no record of this evidence..

You need to send at least a TN letter which outline the jobs qualifications for TN, and the prrof that YOU qualify for tN.
