TN rejected twice - company name issue?

I crossed the border today with a TN letter of support detailing my position as a Mathematician/Statistician category. The job description lined up perfectly with my education and previous experience, as well as the TN category itself. However, the NAFTA officer was not able to find any information about the company that wrote my letter of support online. The officer didn’t grant me the TN status for this new employer, but admitted me into the US because I currently have a valid TN for another employer asking me next time to provide documentation that said company indeed was a US registered company.

After talking to the legal team, I returned with more documentation including the articles of incorporation for the company, however I was rejected again. Talking with the officer, it looks like my company has a registered name that is one name, but it does business under another name (for example, “Business A dba Business” in my letter of support). The officer said that there was inconclusive evidence showing the relationship between “Business A” and “Business”, and asked me to go back and provide more supporting documentation. Talking to the legal team again, I found out that the state that the business is registered in doesn’t require any sort of legal documentation when they are doing business under another name. Should I have the company rewrite the TN letter, but remove all references to the name that they are doing business under, and just use the registered name? I’m not really sure where to proceed because this has never been a problem I’ve dealt with before.

Sounds like you already have a "team" working for you. They will need to figure out what works.
