TN for Machine Learning Scientist

Hi. I am expecting an offer soon in a US firm with the job title "Machine Learning Scientist". The titles "ML Scientist" and "ML Engineer" are often used interchangeably across organizations and I can request the employer to modify the title to ML Engineer if they can (but not sure at this stage if they would as it is a large firm). The job has a lot of overlap with engineering, statistics, Deep Learning research and coding.
Both my Bachelors and Masters degrees are in Electronic Engineering from Canada. I am thinking about applying under NAFTA category of "Engineer".
I didn't see any matching sub-category under NAFTA "Scientist" category and "Computer System Analyst" also doesn't look like a fit for ML Scientist role.
I do have last few years of recent experience as "ML Engineer".
Does "Engineer" NAFTA category seem eligible in my case for this Machine Learning Scientist job? Thanks

As long as the job description in your TN letter clearly shows that you would be using your engineering skills to perform the tasks, your degree and and the job would fit engineering. The internal job title should be of a concern.

The TN letter your sponsor gives you should specify the TN category you are requesting.

Your experience, while it no doubt got you the job offer, doesn't really count towards getting the TN at the border. Job description and education are what count for TN.
