TN Expiring

My TN is expiring in 8 months ( as my passport was about to expire during stamping). I am traveling to Asia now with new passport. Can i take a letter from my current employer for getting a new TN for the same employer for 3 years at the California airport POE when i enter back in california or is it recommended to go to canada to get it stamped?

I-94 is an electronic document that you can look up online (or in some cases a paper stub). It is not a stamp. If you mean entry stamp, it is the same no matter how you enter. Some POEs might even not give entry stamps by default.

What most people mean when they say "stamping" is to get a US visa. But as a Canadian citizen you do not have, and never get, a visa since you do not need it.

I think you still missed my original question regarding the TN renewal 8 months before expiration and at california airport POE instead of outside the USA.

You only get admitted at a POE. So you are asking about a POE in California vs a POE at the US-Canada border or a POE at a Canadian airport with US preclearance. It should make no difference, though POEs near Canada probably have more experience dealing with TNs.

With 8 months left on TN, some POE's some PFIs, will ask that you try later. But as newacct says, to get a non-mail-in TN, you have to leave the US and re-enter, be it by land sea or air.
