TN and F1 for Wife

Hello, so myself and wife are Canadian Citizen. I am applying for jobs in US and will possibly be applying for TN in the near future. My wife is enrolled into an online US Masters program currently, during the time to apply for TN/TD at the border, would we have to apply for F1 for her as well or only a SEVIS entry will do, the institute will be providing an i-20. Bit of confusing for us. Thanks for shredding some light,
 
While shhe may enter on TD, and probably continue going to school, it might be better in long run if she get F1, which is a SEVIS/I-20 entry.
If you should lose your job, she would not lose her status, and you could get F2.

1) I am currently residing in US on TD Visa and I want to know what is the procedure to obtain F1 from TD,. Is it even possible to do?

2) What type of fees do TD holders have to pay to US university?

3) Can TD visa holders get OPT while studying in university?

4 ) Should i obtain F1 visa or study based on TD visa in US?
 
You can study while on TD, but you would qualify for F1. OPT would only be for F1. School fees would need to be investigated by you, in your state.
If you proactively get F1, then when your spouse loses their job, you don't need to scramble to get F1 since you would already have it, and your spouse can more easily switch to F2 if you already have F1.
