Try not to get too disheartened. I never thought I would even get an interview due to my high number and its in three weeks time! I have been watching every bulletin for the last 12 months too. My Number only became current in the June bulletin.
AS region nearly always becomes current before the deadline so just hang on. You only have to wait for two more bulletins before you know for sure. Get your documents together and good luck!

Quick question to alemitmee or whoever can answer this.

How far ahead will you know that your number will become curent? Doesn't the visa bulletin only show for the current month and the upcomming month.

In your signature, you said that you knew your number became current for June, in April?? Can you please tell me how did you found this out?

In April they released June bulletin and advanced notification for July. Same procedure every month ;)

Well spoken Alemitmee and I wish you the best.

Panisalari, I feel you. However you should renew your faith and focus. You will need all your wits around you in the mad rush to beat the 30th September deadline assuming you get an interview and visas are available.

Duh!!! Sorry..This is all new to me so I never actually read or follow visa bulletin until this pass two weeks.

I got it now. Danke!!

Tazmania another veteran DV winner has hit the nail on the head.

I think the best way to think about the bulletins is like this

During MAY the JUNE bulletin is released which has notification for JULY
During JUNE the JULY bulliten is released which has notification for AUG

JUL – AUG – SEP
------ AUG – SEP – OCT
--------------SEP – OCT – NOV
----------------------OCT – NOV – DEC

And so on ……………..

All Dv 2008 Cases Will Done By Nov

HI GUYS,

I would wish to remind guys with high case numbers not to panic coz once they they receive the interview confirmation date by august or sep, its assured you will be issued with your visa even beyond the Sep 30. You need to ensure all documents and finances are ready. In addition, remember the interviewer are human beings like you, so u need to seek God's devine to touch their heart.

case number 70000 + should not be despair coz nothing is impossible.

Are you in kenya at the moment? Don't panic coz everything will be alright. Make sure u r ready for the rush hour in August and July. You need to apply for your police check now and all the families joining you and those documents will be ready by August. I pray and hope you'll be alright. Cheers!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. Having had months to do nothing but prepare I am good to go!

Thats right TNDV. One has to bear in mind the validity of certain of the documentation. With that in mind we obtained the police certificates only early this month. I plan to have the vaccinations ahead of the medical but only once I have a confirmed interview date to avoid the possible waste of hard earned cash not to mention "mateso ya bure" inflicted by various jabs.

...not to mention "mateso ya bure" inflicted by various jabs.

Ha! Ha! Ha! ati mateso ya bure LOL!...

By the way, usitamani USA saaana...especially now that economy iko mbaya. Dont get me wrong, if your opportunities in kenya are limited, then kuja huku is a step up. But if nyumbani uko sawa, with a good job, brace yourself for some degree of disappointment.

Being a senior manager nyumbani equals zero huku. mentally prepare yourself that u might have to go back to school, maybe get an MBA, then TO SOME DEGREE re-assure yourself some equal footing on the employment opportunities.

Also, be open minded kwa kazi that u might have to do, just to make ends meet in the first year or two.

All in all, I just want to ensure that expectations zako ni realistic, especially "reading" jina yako literally...I could be wrong though :)

One of the huge pluses of this forum is that one can learn and compare his situation with the other's based on what that other tells about himself. Using languages other than English, especially exotic ones, makes it impossible for most of the readers.

Some very good points made here, glad to see you have not let the idea of the usa cloud your judgment of reality.

LoL! :) sincere apologies...

in summary, I am cautioning about being infatuated with "the idea of living in America". If u already have a well paying job, u should really and critically evaluate your chances of success in USA, compared with your future success in your home country.

The most popular argument is that people want their kids to get a good american education. this is understandable, but I tell you, sometimes this comes at a loss of opportunity at the parents, and as I have seen, some of these kids that parents work so hard for forget the sacrifices the parents had to go thru.

Also, having a senior position in your home country WILL not always translate to success in USA, and one has to have the mindset to re-train just to compete with zero-experience US-born candidates.

All in all, please do not view US thru' rose colored glasses, but with a realistic attitude, the initial frustrations and bumps on the road will not hurt too much.
