Tips on the Naturalization Interview (N400)

I just posted a 29 minute voice recording on keen.com (not free).

In this recording, I relate the entire process I went through at my
citizenship interview, from walking in the building to walking out. In the
recording,
- I give you techniques to take the interview (how to deflect the
high-pressure tactiques);
- I replicate my entire interview (you can imagine it's you being
interviewed and provide your own answers);
- I describe the process at the INS facilities I visited -- the building,
the wait, the rooms, the others taking the interview;
- I tell you about a pitfall I walked into, and how I walked out;
- I describe the officers and give you a tip to guess your officer's gender
in advance (if that matters to you...);
- I end on a shocker about what happened after the interview (in relation to
the oath);
- and more.

Given how anxious I was after filing my N400 application, I would have loved
to be able to listen to something like this at the time. I would gladly have
paid forty dollars for this -- not much to relieve anguish, and a pittance
compared to the legal fees I had to pay to get to that point. Keen.com has
$5 a rebate for new customers. It took me a long time to put this together.
This is a high-quality narrative with answers to lots of little questions
you might have before going in.

You can call back and listen as many times as you like -- I can't think of a
better way to prepare psychologically for the interview.

Of course, nothing in the recording constitutes any kind of legal advice;
nor do I represent that your interview will go the same way. This is just my
experience, in a lot of detail.

I wish you all the best in your own naturalization process.
