Timeline for Memphis DO for I485

Hi all,
Here I am starting a new thread for Memphis DO's timeline.
I know there is no one there other than me from Memphis. But may be we will have some one in future or this thread might can help someone in future. This thread might will not have frequent updates since Memphis is one of the slowest DO. :mad:

Hi nono77,
I know there is a long waiting at Memphis :mad:. Online Processing dates shows that they are processing November 2002. Have you not received an interview letter yet? You can call/visit them and asked since they have already passed August 2002. I am trying to make myself ready for this waiting but its very hard. Can you please give me your timeline and case information.

Received an Interview letter

Update on my case!
I have received an interview letter while I was gone to India. I received it on very next week of the week I left. My interview is on 24th January which is faster than I expected. I never received any update on my case or never received any email notification.

hey Amishah, Thanks for replying my message.
I have had a lawyer to file my paperwork for me, so I'm not very sure when exactly did her mail out the application for me. But here is what I know:

USCIS received my application on June 16, 2005 (as states on the recepits of my I-130, I-485 etc.)
FP&Biomatric completed in aroung end of July.
Received travel document in the mail in early August (10?) but with a misspelled name. So had my lawyer to send it back for correction.
Received EAD in late August (29?)
Received corrected travel document on Oct.8
Received interview notice on November 8 (interview will be on Feb. 7)

My lawyer told me when we first applied that the interview won't come until about 15 months after USCIS received all the paperwork. Now that the interview comes in 7 months earlier, we just realised that we haven't started collected any "proofs" yet. Can you tell me what have you prepared so far?
 
I have dumped all the proofs in a box. I just got back from India and when I checked my mails, the interview letter was in there from a month. So I really have not got time yet to organize the papers yet. But I will do that in Chritsmas vacation.
So far I have,
Photos
Joint Tax returns
Tax returns transcript
Joint Bank Accounts
Joint morgage on our house
Utility bills with both of our name on it
Life insurance with each others name as survivor
Employment letters
Pay stubs
Boarding passes of our recent trip to India
car insurance

I think this is it so far. Will let you know if something else will come out.

I have been wondering how the processing is in Memphis. I mailed forms to Chicago lock box 9-22-05

LUD on I765 12-02-2005

Will my application for AOS get transferred to Memphis, or somewhere else?

Just wondering... Did either one of you do a walk in fingerprint appointment? I have not received any notice for the bio's.

I did not do walk in. After your EAD and AP, they will transfer your file to Memphis. And Memphis office will schedule your interview.

From your experience... Where the people in the office professional or did they act like they did not want to help? Do you know the good times to go when they are not busy?
 
Office people are very professional and helpful. The security person at the door is not so good. I have been there couple of time during different time of the day. People who does FP and answers diff. inquiries were not so busy at any time. Officers on 2nd floor are very busy doing interviews. But you will not need to go to 2nd floor. I have waited for 30 mins max at anytime. I have not gone without infopass or notice. So get an infopass from internet and then go otherwise that security person will not let you in.
