Time to transfer 485/EAD applications from NYC to a different local office

Has anyone ever moved to another city while CIS is processing the 485/765 application? My wife and I are moving from NYC to Philadelphia and we're wondering how long it will take to transfer my paperwork to Philly. I've heard it can take a while (e.g. 1.5 years, just to transfer it)

I've received my I-EAD and should receive my EAD in the next few weeks.

Our other option is to cancel the existing application and refile through Philadelphia.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
 
Good question, we are moving from MD to NJ and have recevied the EAD but no change in 485 status yet, even after our interview.
Hopefully it's not 1.5 years but if anyone has a better idea please post!
