Does anyone have experience with Interim EAD at New York Office. Especially, when should one go (what time) to stand in line?

Thanks.

I might get into a similar situation very soon. Would appreciate if you could share your experiences.

Hi guys,
here is my experience
My lawyer told me to go New York Office not later then 6 am.in the morning to get EAD.

(I am a NJ. residence)

We went to NY. office 6 am. in the morning
(my wife, son and 8 mounts old doughter)

While we were waiting on the line ( out side of the building)
some officer checked our papers.told us "fine"
Doors opened 8 am
We were in about 8.30 am.
2 officers cheked our papers then told us
"papers are ok. jus wait" (about 11 am)

about 3.30 pm. finally they called us to say
"you have to go new jersey office"
and we said
"thank you for informing us after 8 hours"

first of all it was my lawyers mistake anyway.....

my advise=
go about 6 am in the morning,
if your all papars ok. then you should get your EAD about
3.30 pm in the afternoon.
good luck...........

You can't rely on someone's advise when he couldn't get it done ;)

Not to discourage you, you'd better get there before 9:00PM the night before. Bad timing

Thanks 6th-year,
I understand that its safer to be there by 6:00 but what's the latest time till which they allow you in ?
Also is there any parking area close to the NY INS office ?

Dear sr050603,
I can not tell you latest time,
You should go as early as possible.
You will find a lot of indoor or out door
parking area 1 or 2 blocks away from the office.
They charge about 20 dollars/day.
Good luck..........

Guess you still don't beleive me, huh?

The latest time you should get there is 1:00AM. But if you are from far away, having dinner in the city at 6:00PM is not that out of wack.

Good luck.
