V VivaLasVegas Volunteer Moderator Oct 23, 2002 #2 I 130 is not an application for permanent residence (its merely a petition for an Alien Relative) I 485 is an Application for Permanent Residence. INS takes any where from 1 month to 9 months to mail your plastic Green Card. Good Luck
