Time to Celebrate :)

Alright, so we are off to Orlando from 9-15 of August. This is the celebration planned next week.

Last year the same time (but for less number of days) we went to Toronto. And man, the huge northeast blackout played the spoil sport. It screwed the entire plans and we had to stay in an obscure hotel in Cincinnati. While coming back the Toronto airport directions got all screwed. We circled around the airport at lest 5 times to find where was the car rental company to return the car and missed the flight. Had to pay additional money for next day flite and missed the office meeting. It was just a nightmare instead of a jolly vacation.

Now, with this experience and my usual paranoi I am off to Orlando. Wish me luck because I have a 2.5 year old baby with me. All reservations are confirmed and all look set but who knows what will happen? Thanks and hope you all have a great weekend!
 
O my Citizen friend... why Orlando?

you guys have Blue freedom, go to London, go to zurich , tickets are not that expensive... i am off to London and then Austria and France for two months after i get done with this N400 process. ( hope in my lifetime ).

Good Luck and enjoy. and take batteries and flash light with u this time and take a lappy , to get directions. Enjoy. Let us know how did it go.

Man, people who take my immigration God refuse to give me their Lakshmi. So where else can I go except a cheap vacation spot? I wish to go London and Zurich too but $$? :( :(

LOL... yeah thats true...i hear you. Rahul is not replying to this tread maybe because he thinks he would have to spare some lakshmi. lets see...

The moment he got the things cleared, he would need no immigration God. So automatically he would have nothing to do with me - except saying he is cool - :cool: Ahem!

Hurricane charley played a minor spoil sport but otherwise it was a great vacation. I took a great bath in Daytona Beach, visited Magic Kingdom and it was all fun with kid and spouse. Caught courtesy bus from Disney to the hotel in the last pico-second and was laughing at the fate because if I were more than a pico-second late the bus would have gone for good at 11 PM. It was something like immigration God taking another form and pushing me in the correct direction. :-) Visited Sai temple in Inverness, FL as well. Believe me, Florida highways are a heaven to drive. The best among the country's best. Still my vote goes to Ohio turnpike. But FL turnpike is no second. It is equal to Ohio TP, if not better. Lots of food and fun driving. Daytona beach was great. The water was at more than 70 degrees temp., and I did not feel like coming out.

Then came the uncle charley. Universal studios is now like diluted skim milk. Not worth a dime to spend. Every park was closed on Saturday except Universal. Our Friday ticket of Universal was extended to Saturday. So I had two visits with one ticket. See the God pushing? But boy, it was not worth two days. It is diluted. Sunday was our flight back home. We made it and there were no delays luckily. Life was good. The rush hour traffic and poplaution in Orlando is so great compared to Milwaukee that I am so happy back in MKE. This is like my village in desh where I can sit on a charpoy and eat lazily and drink !

Disney used to be like magic kingdom but now is a madhouse with a billion people. The fast pass is pretty good and is free. Overall the parks' quality is pretty low compared to 1990s when I first visited them. We could not take many rides because of the kid's height (Less than 40"). Even then we enjoyed a lot. Nothing like going away from work and not looking at the immigration forum. :-) Do not you agree?

So that was how my vacation went. Now planning for next vacation already :-) To desh in December for 3 weeks. Thanks everyone.
