I'm married to a man from Mexico and have been working on his papers since Feb'2001. We've already had our interview with an officer in our local offices (Houston, TX). At the time of the interview I didn't have my origianl documents just my husbands. So the officer gave me a checklist with an address to send these to. I sent them back in Jan. of this year but haven't heard yet on what their final answer is on if they are going to issue him his green card!!!! Please if anyone can help me I would appreciate it. When I Call INS I'm told they need his reciept#. We were NEVER given a reciept#. I have ALL the papers ever recieved from INS and NOWHERE is there a 3 letter 10 digit #.!!!!I have even wrote the office over a month ago and never heard back from them....HELP>>>

Waiting is virtue when dealing with INS. You must have got a notice of approval when you first applied. Every INS service center is identified by a 3 letter code which is on the extreme top-left corner of the notice. It should be easy to find.Keep calling the processing center.
