Time Frame Question

Hello,
I read on the immigration website that it takes X amount of time for a person to become naturalized. It did say that the process could be faster under certain circumstances. Does anyone know what those circumstances are? Thanks.

Military based applications are faster.

Depends what you mean by faster. Processing time is probably more a factor of where you apply - some DOs work faster than others.

Beyond that, there are shorter statutory waiting periods for some people.
- active duty military (no wait)
- spouses of US citizens on >1yr overseas assignment (no wait)
- spouses of US citizens (3yrs as LPR)
- everyone else (5yrs as LPR)
