how many days/ months after since you reach your priority date can you travel (and work)? my father is a citizen and he applied for me (unmarried daughter over 21) in july 2001. the case was approved but the priority date is taking forever. they are now still processing april. so i am wandering if say we reach the date feb 2006, can i travel say on may 2006? and how soon can i work?

When you apply for adjustment of status you can apply at the same time for Travel Document/Advance Parole and Work authorization. Will take some months (3-4) to get both after applying. AP can be less than 3 months but I am not sure. You can check out around this forum the timeline for EAD (work).
Good luck,

I applied for the AP document on October 14th. My application was last updated on October 27th according to the USCIS website. I still haven't received the AP yet.

Anyone around here who has received the AP? Please let us know of your timeline.

AP usually takes 30-90 days. I applied in Jul, and got it approved last week. RFE delayed my approval, but typically it should follow the EAD timeline and get approved before or around the time your EAD gets approved.
