Time available to change companies

I am on my EAD currently with moree than 180 days passed since my AOS application, and my I140 already approved. If I am laid off from my sponsoring company, how much time do I have on my EAD status to change companies. Am I out of status if I am laid off, i.e. do I need to be employed on all days of my EAD status, or can I stay unemployed? Is there a period of unemployment that is allowed before the job change?

You are in status as long as a decision is pending on your 485 application and there is no period of unemployment stated before the job change. But it is better to look for a job immediately in case of an RFE.
