Ties to Home Country

For a visitor visa application, Is it better to list the ties to home country in the covering letter or should it be explained in the interview.

If one lists his ties in the letter, does it convey the message that it is prepared not genuine?

Ties should be evident by the applicant's DS-156 in my opinion. Documents are just documents.

its better when you explain them in interview and if get chance then show them your family photograph also which can help to convey positive act.
