Hello,
I got a traffic ticket this morning (driving 70 in 55 MPH zone). Fined 75$. He took my AAA card as bond. No court appearance is required.

I am in 485 pending stage. Will it affect the processing of the same. Can any one please comment. What do I need to do to take it off my record. Thank you.

You have got nothing to worry about. Traffic law violation is not considered to be a criminal behavior. It's not going to affect your processing. However, if I were you, I would go to the court and would try to convince the judge to throw out the ticket, as it's likely to increase your auto insurance premium.
 
BTW, make sure to pay your ticket within the time frame if you are not contesting it (otherwise it can spell a lot of trouble for you, including warrant for arrest). I am a little surprised that he took your AAA card as a bond (never heard of this before). Were you driving in a different state than you currently live in?

I had a similar experience. Nothing to worry. You may be able to take some Traffic class and take it off from the record.
 
Well, if you get AAA plus it serves as a bond card for traffic violations etc. I live in Illinois and got the ticket in a neighbouring county from where I live. Thank you.

If this is your first traffic violation you have nothing to worry about. Wait for summons from the traffic court and attend the hearing. The judge will call you and ask if you are guilty. Sometimes if the police officer who gave you the ticket does not appear at the hearing you could contest and have it cancelled. If you are really guilty of speeding, let the judge know that you plead guilty. He will refer to your past driving record and give you probation. Probation means if you do not get another ticket in the next three months this ticket will never go on your record.

He should also give you a reduction in the fine to about 60$. This is from my personal experience in Dupage County.
 
Since my application is pending do we have to inform INS about this traffic violation. I have already had FP 1 year ago. Thank you.
 
I was last week at court

I was involved in accident and was last week at cook county court to attend to appearence of the guy who hit me.

I think it better not mail the payement but go to court and state that you are guilty. I sow many people doing it and they all reved very limited fines. Their previous behavior was also taken in consideration.

So if you have a clean record it is worth it. You will get a propation period and the violation will likely not be in your record.
Once it is in it. It will take several year to get rid off it.
Furthermore if you get another tiket in let say 6 months you will have more trouble.

Don't worry about your GC for traffic related accident unless it is majaor like hit and run. (I was hit by a guy who left)

rsh,check the materials that officer gave you

If you live around Chicago you will 2 options based on your county
and in both cases this will not go into your records if you don't have
any moving violation in your record in the last 12 months.
1. Dupage county. You have to send the form that you plead
guilty and request for court supervision. (Rsur mentioned in his
reply).
2.Cook County. Attend class and your violation will not go to your
records.
All this info should be in the material given to you by the officer.

I live in Central Illinois and I got ticket in Vermillion County on I-74 near Illinois-Indiana border. Court date is July 16, 2003. Will try to get probation as I only have parking tickets no other ones. Thank you all.

Here is the portion of I-485 form that you might have filled during your 485 stage:

" Part 3. Processing Information (Continued)

1. Have you ever, in or outside the U.S.:

a. knowingly committed any crime of moral turpitude or a drug-related offense for which you have not been arrested? Yes No

b. been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, fined, or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance, excluding traffic violations? "

BCIS does not count traffic violations as criminal offense.

PLEASE DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT FROM BCIS POINT OF VIEW.
