We are trying to advocate for those who have detroyed or lost their confirmation numbers but did not receive any email from KCC.

2. Providing email address was optional, so those without email addresses who lost or destroyed their condemnation numbers should also report here.

I don't remember if providing an email address was optional, but as far as I know to provide an email address is an important to get an updates of your case if you will win.
Optional isn't important. Important isn't optional. Email was optional.

These topic have already been treated let wait till july 15

The topic was treated but was there a solution to the problem--we want SOLUTION--because it can also cause a potential problem in the near future. Yes, some people said hotmail users might have not gotten that email. So what happens to those people? How are they going to check their results? What about those without email address at all? Remember, providing email address was optional since KCC was not going to communicate via email--it was not required.

when i say that DV 2012 was a mess... how will KCC handle that? What is most new selectees have hotmail & can't check? or better yet, do not have the email adress... again better, do not even know the redraw has took place...?

Agreed. Yup, this is especially not fair to the ones who do not have an e-mail address as this was optional. In addition, what about some of the ex-winners who are using another e-mail provider other than Hotmail; who DID NOT receive the e-mail? So July 15th will be of no benefit to those who do not have their Conf. #

Well, you want a solution with problem you trying to create by yourself, mostly all the people received an emails, but some didn't because of technical problems... well if they lost their CN and do not worry now about they didn't receive an emails -- Why do you feel that you should care about it? It's probably them who should care about.

Nobody is trying to create any problem. You can starkly refused to recognized that there such problem about the confirmation numbers. Perhaps, you received that email, or somehow, you still have your confirmation so to you there is no need to spare a thought for people without confirmation numbers.

My answer to you is simple :"injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere"--Martin Luther King. Wait till you win only for people to start complaining about unfairness about their confirmation numbers.

Enough with u guys troubles to DOS already! DOS clearly stated on the instruction to provide an e-mail address as if u get selected u will receive follow-up communication from KCC via the e-mail u provided thus the e-mai thing wasn't optiona! Here's the quote from the instruction page "E-MAIL ADDRESS – provide an e-mail address to which you have direct access. You will NOT receive an official selection letter at this address. However, if your entry is selected and you respond to the notification of your selection through the Entry Status Check, you will receive follow-up communication from the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) by e-mail notifying you that details of your immigrant visa interview are available on Entry Status Check"
I guess u guys should aways read instructions before whining! DOS even tried by sending out the confirmation number again, and u peope shoud be greatful for that than worry them again because they aso said u can check ur status starting May 1st through June 2012 or so, so y woud u be in a hurry to do away with ur confirmation number huh?

Dubbies, I think you are missing the point here and probably do not understand the impulse of this post.

While it maybe true that DoS asked applicants to provide email they personally have access to, it was optional. Besides, not every applicant has an email address. Don't be too myopic about this.

Again, it is true that DoS asked applicants to check their status from May 1- June. You are are misinterpreting the statement "check from May -June". It simply means you can check your status anytime between May-June.

Once you checked your entry status and you are told that you were selected or not selected, there is no essence in keeping the confirmation numbers. It has now become important because DoS invalidated the results. If DoS had not voided the initial results, would you be talking about CN?

You claim that DoS stated they will communicate (not about notification letter) further with applicants selected via email. If that is the case, why are they sending emails because no one has been selected as far as we all know, and the email is about CN.

So in effect, DoS is not doing any favor by sending confirmation numbers-- they are rather exacerbating the situation and making it squishier and murkier for everyone.

Dubbies, the essence of this post is to find a solution to a potential problem--and not a dissenting opinion which offers no idea or advice.

Hello everyone,

Just letting you know that a topic has been opened on the discussion board of the Facebook page of the 'U.S. Department of State: Consular Affairs' concerning this whole confirmation number email reminder situation. An official admin seems to answer questions (as long as they are polite questions of course :)). Maybe this can bring some clarification…

Good luck to you all!

The fact DoS even *offered* something to find your previous entry number is a great thing, but solely at their discretion. If you lose it, or destroy it that is purely your loss.. regardless of a redraw or not. They're under no obligation at any point to ensure you remember the entry number. In fact I believe it even warns you to keep it upon entry.
