i just opened my email and received this from USCIS....
Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or
to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On October 10, 2006, we received your response to our request for
evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was
complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated
in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You
can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case
status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or
advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please

my concern is that i never received any emails from USCIS indicating that they sent a RFE for me and my lawyer has not contacted me regarding any RFE's either......my lawyer is on vacation and would not be back till next week so im not sure if he received an RFE for me and answered the RFE weeks ago.....

is this an impending Denial?????? is it possible that there was actually NO RFE sent to me and to my lawyer but they sent me this email????

Hi there,

There is a possibility that the mail sent to you was returned by the post office, and the USCIS mistakenly recoreded that as your response to the RFE.

This happened with my I-140 RFE. My office moved to a new location, but the address was not correctly updated with the USCIS. I found out from my local post office that correspondence from the govt. is not forwarded to the forwarding address.
