Things to be done in India after becoming US citizen

Could someone throw light on:
1. conversion of bank accounts
2. Property (House, Agricultural Land etc.)
3. Surrendering the Indian Passport
4. Notification to any other authorities
5. Any other

In India (not in USA)

I am looking for things to be in India (not US). Some time
back there was a thread on things to be done in US (including
one reply: If you are in California, add your name to the recall ballot)

I am looking for things like Lands, house etc.
 
I guess you have to sell all your property as an non-Indian cant own property if I remember correctly
 
Property in India

I have some property in Kanpur. Do I need to sell that before getting the citizenship.

Joef or anyone else can you please give your exprt suggestions

I beleive there is a law in India that stops you from owning property if you are not an Indian Citzen.

I beleive that if you bceome a US citzen you must give up Indian Citzenship under India Law.

Therefore if you must give up Indian Ctizenship I guess you must also then have to sell you Indian property .

Someone from INdia may know more about this.

No need to sell your property

You can continue to own the property. There is no need to sell that.

You can't own Agricultural land, so if you own that you would have to dispose that off.
