Assume that HR doesn\'t want to say that the job is available
after immigration b/c they know I may be fired.
I want to negotiate every word with them.
So what is the minimum that the letter should say?
Is "is and continues to be employed" sufficient?

Thx

No Title

I was in similar situation.
They claimed employment is at will and therefore they cannot guarantee the future.

First, my lawyer said a letter with just your current status (Active, full time, salary, title) and start date is OK. I read about successful CPers with a letter with only this.

However, at the time I was not satisfied. Therefore I made some noise and came up with the following text:
Mr. is employed with us on full time as a since and his current annual salary is $.

This letter is to reaffirm our continued desire to employ Mr. as a as set forth in the approved I-140 Visa Petition and in full accordance with Employment Policies for regular employees. Upon receiving approval of his permanent residence application, his employment will be on permanent basis, pursuant with said employment policies.

Now, my company\'s employment policies state employment at will, so this meant that they could sign it without fearing contractual long term obligation of any kind.

My company\'s labor attorney signed this him self. I got my GC this summer.
Hopes this helps.
