Another example of how INS works:
I sent my 485/EAD application to VSC on July 25, 2001 and VSC received it on July 27, 2001. I was waiting and waiting to just get the receipts, and even thinking of re-filing. Finally, today my attorney called VSC and got the receipt numbers for 485(no receipts for EAD yet). And the worst thing that happened was the receipt date is Dec. 3, 2001 whereas it should have been sometime in August.
For now I am just happy that I have the EAC number. So, if any July filer is still waiting for receipt, you are one of those unlucy fellows. But you too would have your day!
