Discrimination and profiling is not the answer, never was never will be. remeber what happened to the Japanese? Or should I tell you.

What was done to the Japanese-Americans and Japanese immigrants here was a reaction but for sure not a solution.

I guess poeple dont relize that this country was made by immigrants. Discriminating againest the faces of future America is just wrong.

Criminals, and terreroests DO NOT come in a specific color, or back ground. All you need to do to learn the facts is read or watch the news.

Kids from Colorado (born and raised) terrorised the country and the school system. Orginazed crimes by the Irish, Italians, Russians and South American's.

You cant profile evil. Evil could be anywhere and come from any direction.

So havinig said all of that, the best way to make sure this country is safe is to process EVERY AND EACH applicant the same exact way. As that too hard for the Government and the rest of the people who are asking to understand?

so you got beat up everyday on your way home by a white girl. your reported that to the police and they started to question all the residents two towns over because, you know, you have to process every and each resident on the face of the earth: who isn't to say that that old black guy two towns over wouldn't disguise himself as a white girl in beating you up?

and you would be perfectly happy when the police tell you that it would take over 200 years to process all the potential suspects.

Maybe you would. Most of us would have yelled at the police for not focusing on white girls in our own town if this had happened to us.

you have to separate desire from reality. Not all muslims are terrorists. and so far, all the terrorists are muslims. specifically, young muslim males. so if your job is to keep them out, why would you focus on 1-yr old spanish infants?

I don't know if I have a complicated case, I think they make my case complicated. I have been arrested on an expired visa, been through removal proceedings, granted relief under 245, adjusted status through immigration judge, was born and raised in a NATO member muslim country, (however, while this should not be an issue, I, myself, is not muslim) I have a name that sounds like a muslim name, and I have flight training. Any better combination? I haven't seen any, though I AM NOT A DAMN TERORIST NOR A SUSPECT! I lost the count of background checks I have been through, why start new ones everytime background information is required? To me, even these things flag me, which is normal, I have no problem with that, it should still be processed in less than 4 months.

Nobody asked whether you agree or not with FBI profiling. Imbecils like you are the one getting us stuck in the Name check. The main goal of this Immigration Forum is to help and support each other without making it more difficult than it already is. For your information, Arab Americans and muslim Americans are working much harder than any other immigrant here to show they are good citizens and that they are worth it.

Your case, though you haven't had any major issues, is not crystal clear. Filing as a pro se is going to be a pain in the neck. Especially, if you don't have time to do a lot of research. Beleive me , based on what you told us about your case so far, USCIS will pick a fight. Before picking a lawyer, go to PACER, download a few cases handeled by your district court. Call the lawyer who handeled many cases (he/she will have more experience).

if you were running the DHS, charged with, among others, keeping criminals and terrorists out of this country, how would you have done differently?

Would you instead focus on 5-yr old boys from rural Canada for background checks to see if they are potentially terrorists or criminals?

I am all for bashing DHS, justifiably so. But given what happened in the last few years, how sensible is it to do anything other than what DHS did?

Let's be realistic here. Why would terrorists apply for US citizenship? Why would they take a chance getting investigated by the USCIS/FBI and get deported?
Also, even if they're granted US citizenship, if they do something stupid, their citizenship will be revoked and they will be shipped back where they came from. Do you remember the guy from Israel who comitted a murder in NJ, they revoked his US citizenship and was sent back to Israel. Also, in miami, a naturalized guy, originally from Haiti, was caught dealing drugs, they revoked his citizenship and was shipped back to Haiti.
My point, it's fair and understandable to do background checks to ovoid naturalizing criminals. However, stalling the natz application of an arab or muslim, who has no criminal record, just because he is arab or muslim is not fair.

That is the interesting part brother. Based on WHAT are they going to pick a fight?My honorable service in the United States Army? TERMINATED removal proceedings by their own judge? They have no ground! Ah, they might ask more time to research about me I am fine with that! They may dig whatever they can, they won't find anything done wrong in my past. They can ask for all the extension they want. Just give me a damn date for my oath so I can know, I may deploy and fight the war as a citizen!

And the lawyer from NJ I had for my AOS case is pretty experienced, court-wise I must say, I have 100% confidence in him.

However, I need to make a decision, like you pointed out, I do not have much time to make a research myself, I am pretty busy with the daily military stuff, my military lawyer here agreed back in July that he would help me prepare the petition, but didn't say much what he would do if USCIS picks a fight. Third, my chain of command wants to step in, but I do not know where to channel them, I don't have any current numbers from the government where they can call. Tomorrow I am going to have my chief call my Adjudication Officer in Atlanta. From there, I will see, I want to end this without a court case.

It is people who profile and discriminate are the proplem, like you. When you say "all the terrorists are muslims. specifically, young muslim males", you either you do not know history which is a problem or you are ignoring the facts and that is a disaster. I am sure the viewers here have higher inteligent than that and they know what is the issue. As long as we have people like you in our society who thinks all of the terrerests have been young Muslim, then this world has no hope. My advice to you is learn more about the history of violence and the groups who have contriputed to that and creating terroresem in our world. When you can see the clear picture, you might have some inteligent point of view, until then do yourself a favor and read, read alot.

I would recommend to hire him then. However, ask him if he has experince with this type of cases (1447b or WoM).

If your application is "pending" "awaiting Name Check completion" it is stuck with the FBI. Have your chief call the FBI. You're in the army, they will prioritize you if one of your superiors makes a call. If you see nothing happening in 1-2 months, you're better off calling your lawyer.

Thank for the note, I am tired of people mark Muslims every day as Terrorests. I will ingore this Moran "Gili" and not sink to his shallow brain level.

We are here trying to make things better for all of us by exchanging information. The last think we need here is to have people like this justifying and endorcing the pure act of discrimination.

Your point of view is perfect "why would terrorests apply for citizenship", they are not intrested in staying in this country long term.
