Hey everyone,

I just wonder how long you've been playing the lottery by now? Or how many times had you played before you won? It's not an attempt to infer a correlation since there is none. I am simply curious about your experience.
It's my seventh year already, but no sign of success has appeared yet.

I just played one (2010) and got selected, but since i married a USC I didn't continue with the procedure, after I got my KCC letter for paying the fee. I rather decided to give another person the chance, since I have another way to get the GC.
I think is related where are you born. The are areas with more possibilities than others. I'm from Europe, and almost all the people from my country get selected, since we have almost 0 migrants to US, and almost 0 rejected visas.

Hi.
Can you explain how do you know that all candidates from your country have been selected?
Is it for sure?I am from Greece and every year they accept about 50 candidates but i know that we dont send many people to USA
Is it possible that all candidates will be selected from Greece as well?
And if you want can you tell where are you from?
Thanks :)

Ok let's see:
DV-1998 to DV-2010 - Nothing...
DV-2011 - I already gave up hope, so I will add it up to the upper line - NOTHING.
DV-2012 - BIG HOPE :)

I also have a friend who won the lottery from the first attempt. I have been non-selected for so many years that I start to think that somebody purposely tries to avoid my name :)

How about 1993 (DV 95) - 2006----> Nothing... (I tht that they may have truly black listed me for continually trying w/o giving up!!)
2007 (DV 09) ---->Yes!!!

Its a RANDOM lottery and I think AS may have the lowest odds of winning.
Keep on trying.
I think DV program will not end, the plan i think is to dbl it soon to 110k visas from current 55k.
Good Luck.

Hopefully,100k visas would be really cool :-)

Proponents of mass immigration in Congress, however, are fighting to maintain – and even expand – the lottery. Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX) has sponsored legislation containing a provision that would double the amount of diversity visas offered each year (H.R. 264), and Judiciary Committee Chairman Conyers has praised the lottery for allowing “many people of color to immigrate to the United States and pursue the same American dream that many of the ancestors of the members [of Congress] here were able to pursue.”

But a strong opposition too is a possibility.

DV2011 - Application from east Europe

My confirmation number is 20111B6NJWxxxxxx but still no answer from KCC :(

DV-2001 to DV-2010 - Nothing...

DV 2008, 2009, 2010 - Nothing
DV 2011 - Not giving up hope until July 1
I'm only 22 so basically I've played every year since I graduated from high school.

I won on my second attempt. Interview is this July. I am a British citizen but born in Uganda.

Do you really think that those who are in the US have virtually lost any chance to win the lottery this year? Officially, there is still some time to win, although I am not sure if there will be another wave of NLs.
