as my tragi-comic opera 'The Immigration to the Promised Land' winds down to an ending that was all but certain, yet so so uncertain. People on this forum have called it the end of a long journey, though to me by now it seems like the journey became the destination in itself.
The details:
Decided to apply for a green card: Oct 1999
PD: Dec 6, 1999
LC approval: Sometime in May 2001
I-140: Sometime in June 2001
RD: 9/16/2001
ND: 10/13/2001
FP: 1/17/2002
FP 2: 11/24/2003
RFE: 2/24/2004 (for employment)
RFE submitted on 3/17/2004
RFE received: 3/22/2004
Approval (per online update that I checked just now): 3/29/2004
Approval for my wife and two daughters, whose RFEs were also received by the NSC on 3/22 is still pending. Incidentally, while all this was going on, the older of the two kids turned 14, and she was fingerprinted in January 2003. Their RFEs were for proof to substantiate a 'Hindu' wedding and medical related.
As they say, its not over till its over, and we are still waiting for it to get over.
