I think she is talking about the day on the date. I think it should have been 03/30/2005 instead of 03/02/05. But I don't know if it's a problem.

Congrats by the way!!

okay ...

ANYBODY in here got their "resident since" .. exactly the same like their approval date ??? ..

like for example if u get approved by Jan 11 2006 , did u find ur
"resident since" in ur card . exactly the same like ur approval date : Jan 11 2006 ? instead of "a year earlier" ?

any answer to this, highly appreciated! thx

OK, here's how it is SUPPOSE to be. Asylees get their green cards backdated 1 year from the day of approval. For example I got approved on MArch 29-th of 2006 and my Green card states that I'm resident from March 27-th of 2005.

I hope I explained it good enough to understand. Good luck and enjoy your freedom!

okay ...

yes, I can see that ..

at least ur date is pretty close from 29 to 27.

mine approved on March 30 2006 and The greencard stated March 2 2005.

well, I guess just leave it that way ..

anybody have the same situation like me? what do u do? pls share ... thx

ps: The card expired 03/30/16 (This one is correct March 30)

Miss PINK do not worry. It's even better. Now u r 1 month closer to citizenship. U made me laugh though :). U r fine, u'll be allright.

Hahaha ...

thank you thank you ...
I just scare my neighbor when I received it in my mail .. hahaha ..
I was screaming all the way to the 3rd floor (my apt) .. HAHAHA ...
They think I'm crazy .. HAHAHA ...

Hey Miss.Pink,

I thought you were talking about the day being earlier than March 30. If it's the 2005 that's worrying you, don't be. As somebody told you already Asylees' GCs are backdated a year (that's to compensate us for the 1 year we have to wait before we apply for GC). About the day, I don't think it's a big deal. If it really worries you that much, you can call the 800 number and ask. But I think if it's an issue at all it would be during citizenship and maybe they will make you wait 28 more days before you can apply (this is only my assumption), but I really don't thinkit's a problem.

I am really happy you got it finally! Maybe Clotty will get it today too and you can compare the dates!

Enjoy! :)

Pink,

You do have a point though i checked my 17 yr old sister's Green card she was approved march 2 2006 and her card says resident since march 2 2005. I will advise that you call them it looks like a typo.

thank you

Thank you for all the respond.

Yeah, I cannot wait until clotty get his. so we can compare. but u right probably I shouldn't matter so much about the date. It is not my fault after all. ...

btw I just remember the officer who took my picture. She told me. "don't forget to dye ur hair pink whenever u enter united states coz they might not recognize u" .. HAHA (I luv' my pic on the card) ..

"I can not wait till clotty gets his"....heh, I am a female. Do I write like a male coz everyone thinks I am a man, hah ha.

Hey, see you are not behind me, heh . I did not get the card yet. Did you also get approval or welcome notice in the mail?

Also Miss PinK, the issue date on GC for all asylees are one year backdated. And also in regards to why it does not say "3/30/2005" and instead says "3/2/2005", your approval date may indeed very well be 3/2. You received a status change on 3/30. It does not say in your message "you were approved on 3/30". It says "a welcome noticed was sent on 3/30". So maybe it was approved, but it sat on someone's desk until they sent out welcome or approval notices. My welcome notice was sent on 4/1 and approval notice was sent on 4/6 (I received none of them yet in the mail) but it does not mean either one is the date that my application was approved. It is likely that my approval date on the GC will show late March.

It is ok don't worry about it.Your gc was officially approved on a previous date but you got your approval later.

I didn't even get an approval later but got the GC straight. I called them that where is my approval letter? They sent me about 12 approval letters at once...

Just enjoy this weekend.
