I would like to take this opportunity to thank one and all on this forum especially rajiv khanna who has done an excellent job. Rajiv has altered my image about lawyers and how they can help you out. He has done lot of selfless act like filing suit against ins and taking a lot of initiatives to help the immigration community. Even this forum and how easy it is to use it is all thanks to him. This website and people like Pongurnaar have increased my awareness about immigration law including other miscellaneous laws which I hope i will not have to use ..assualt, shop lifting and what not :D

I have changed jobs and not informed INS or used AC21. My lawyer wanted to make a quick buck but i refused to do it. I read the law and felt it was not required. I always felt it was not required to give them information which they have not asked for. I think getting a card or not or the time you will get it depends on Karma. Someday maybe I will write a book on the entire experience..

Again would like to wish 2002 folks better luck and faster approvals especially people like Patel, Pongurnaar and even people who have pending cases like goastros. I felt 2002 was the worst year to file esp after september 11, 2001 everything slowed down like george fernandes railway strike in bombay. Now can begin my second phase in life like buying a house and not being worried about titles when looking for a job.

I will visit the forum but not 50 times a day like i used to do. INS and the process has made me into a pessimist that even after mailing of the card I felt that it still could be misplaced or mispelled like many guys here. Like I said earlier my Karma held good after FP..the whole process from fp to receipt of card took less than 60 days.

See you around guys I will be visiting web sites like www.sulekha.com in my attempt to write ..so if you guys come around there we still can keep in touch....or one day maybe I will be sitting in barnes and noble on my nation wide book tour :D :D:D:D:D signing out for now

Goodluck Tombaan

Tombaan ,

you have been an inspiration to every body on this forum , Goodluck in the next phase of your life.

Hi Tombaan

I will miss you very much. I really liked your word "KARMA".
No one can change any one destiny. I have postponed my
GC stamping through my attorney. In India I never heard of
Visa, but in USA every step there is Visa. Can you let me know?
What is the meaning of stamp in Passport? How long the stamp is
Valid? In Plastic GC card what is duration of validity. Please take
your time to reply.

Tombaan..what did you do on job change ?

I see that you didn't send ac21 documentation to USCIS upon job change.
I guess this is one of those grey areas where opinions seem to be
equally divided between sending and not sending doc.

What did you do basically ? Changed jobs and just kept quiet ?
Did USCIS issue any RFE or anything ? Or just an approval ? Did you
attend an interview and if so, were you asked to showcase proof of
employment during interview ? If yes, did you submit ac21 docs during
interview ?

Enjoy your life! It was great having you here every step of the way through my pains as well as yours. You will be missed.

I will be missing you for sure, dude. Kind of that "stickiness" you know...how we got to a fisticuff in the beginning only to realize that we had different ideologies and yet happened to have common interests, etc. I am happy that the journey is over for you and so I should not say that I will be "missing you here." May be, I will be missing you in the inner recesses of my heart. OK, enough of senti: Have an awesome time pal!!!!! Enjoy life!!!

And yeah...am sure you will stay away from any of those offenses you had mentioned. ROFL :D :D . You just can't get over it...don't you? ROFL....

thanks P

I know we got on a wrong start. I was pretty uptight on certain issues which in hindsight look stupid. I am trying to learn to let go of various things which really dont matter.

The reference of various offences was tongue in cheek remark and not meant to hurt any one. Honestly I have learned on various laws thanks to people like you....

I sincerly wish you would get approved soon and feel for my buddies from May 2002 and before. It makes me uncomfortable to think that I was lucky to get out. I just dont like or believe much in luck factor and hence cannot believe that all my process got over so fast i.e. 60 days from fp to card.

I will be around though not frequent till I see very little of may 2002 and before cases are gone...until then

Sure thing, dude. I must thank you for giving that tinge of "devil's advocate" voice. Surely I must say that your voice of dissent really helped me delve deeper into issues. But for your dissent, I don't know if I could have mustered to get deeper into the issues. You really kind of challenged me intellectually and I must thank you for that. Hey, your references to those offenses...I knew they were tongue in cheek and were kind of made in a lighter vein. I still remember vaguely one of your comments a long time ago about how you will make sure to not even take a glass of beer or something to drive around....hahaha. That was pretty hilarious at that time when people with DUI were having fears in this forum. All is well that ends well.

I hope to join you soon :-) Until then, celebrate your success and be on Cloud-Nine.
