Terminated H1B employee waiting for spouse petition

I just got terminated while I'm on an H1B visa last week (Jan19) . I am also at the same time waiting for my husband's petition for me which was received by the USCIS last Dec14. I am expecting the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) to arrive on February of March. Will my termination affect my status/husband's petition? My employer has not yet informed immigration of their termination because it was I, through my lawyer, who processed all the employment papers and paid for the fees. I don't know what to do. Should I tell the employer to inform immigration now or should I just wait for my EAD before the employer informs immigration? I'm so confused

what do you mean by "my husband's petition for me which was received by the USCIS last Dec14??? what kind of Petition he has filed? I-130?
