Hi,
Last month we got AOS approval for my spouse and for myself. When we went to the Local INS Office ( Jacksonville,FL ) on Nov 26 , we were given ( and all of the other green card related cases were processed the same way ) a temporary Permanent Resident Status on our passports for 1 month and told us to come back ( we were given an appointment so that we can avoid the Q ) on Dec 26 when we will be given 1 year Permanent Resident Status like before and thereafter we will get the actual green card by mail. When I asked the immigration office why this is being done, he said that INS has started this new procedure since a week back.
Is there any one who got similar experience?
Thanks in advance.
