Temporary EAD

I was told that one can get temporary EAD going to INS if 485/EAD application has been pending more than 90 days. I have 2 questions:

1) where in Boston, INS office at JFK Building,Government Center or INS office at Portland Street, North Station you have to go?

2) What do you need to take with you? Photos, Receipts, Cash etc??

Take I485 receipt copy, passport, driver ID, Money order for 120 for each applicant...

EAD before 90 days?

Can we get EAD from the local INS office by paying $120 and Notice of action ( EAC no) and it is less than 90 days since we applied for 485/EAD for my wife?

The only sure way to know

is to go and try. But not sure whether this will work.
