Hi all,

I need you help in this regard. I am on H1 visa. I am thinking of getting married. Girl is in Pakistan. I have my H1 visa converted here in USA. SO basically i have H1 status. I dont have visa stamp. Now if i go to pakistan to get it stamped i dont know how long its gonna take and the risk with it. So I dont want to take that risk. I have this girl in Pakistan, WHy question is that if i do a Nikkah over telephone will it be valid if we got it registered from pakistan government. And what will be the process after that. Could she be able to come on H4 visa. I heard they require photos from wedding. That could be the problem. Other option is to get her here by student visa and do the processing. Any suggestion and advice in this regard will be highly appreciated. I need your help and inputs.

If your H1B is legitimate, why are you worried about stamping? It is absurd to think that US wants to deny legitimate workers the visas they need to enter.

Proxy marriages are problematic in immigration in any context. Is that legal under sharia law? Is that legal in Pakistan?

Are you worried that your H1-B will be re-examined and revoked? Does it have to do with a tenuous employer-employee relationship issue?

Its just that the amount of time it will take for the H1 stamping and wether i will get it or not. I have excellent relationship with my employer and for that matter i am also employed by the state as well. No problem with the history of h1 or illegal stay as well.

Employer-employee relationship refers to the nature of the employee's legal working relationship to the petitioner when really working at a third party contract site. The classic "job shop" scenario.
