TD visa stamp and entry to Canada

Hi,

I am a Canadian working and living in Maryland, USA using TN visa. My visa would not expired for another 2.5 years. My girl friend is from Taiwan (non-Canadian, not Canadian PR) international student F-1, and she is in her optional practical training period and working in USA. However, her OPT is going to be expired in Oct 16th, 2012. We are planning a wedding ceremony in Vancouver on September 29th 2012. So I am asking is it possible for her to get a TD visa at US Consulate in Vancouver after the wedding?

Or is it possible to get married in USA first, and then travel to Canada to get the TD visa before her F-1 OPT expired (her B1/B2 visa is expired already)?, In this case, if we travel back together for a week to get the TD visa, I am a non-resident Canadian, and she is a non-canadian spouse, will she get trouble entering Canada? I am afraid that Canadian custom would not let her enter the country since she is married to a canadian.

Thanks in Advance!

Arthur

Hi Nelsona

thanks for the information!

I have one more question to ask,

If we are married in USA, can we travel to Canada together for a visit about a week without the proof of consulate appointment?

Is there a risk in terms of deny entry of non-canadian spouse since I am not living in Cananda?

Thanks

Arthur

What part of my previous post did you not understand. I'm answering you elsewhere, not here.
