TD visa for wife

Hi,

My wife is coming to Toronto, Canada on PR status, I want to apply her TD visa on the next day after landing, can I do that ? to apply for TD visa applicant must have their PR card or not, please confirm?

Normally PR card comes in mail 4 to 6 weeks after landing and I dont want to wait for 4-6 weeks in canada till I apply for her TD visa ( as I am going to Canada to receive my wife in Toronto and unable to get 4 week vacations from Job only have a week vacation to receive my wife and apply for her TD visa and then after her TD visa we will back together here).

Pls guide us. Any other suggestion.

You've asked this question at least once before.

No one absolutely needs their Cdn PR card to apply for consular visa in canada. It helps, but is not mandatory. the fact that she will have status makes it very likely that she can apply for visa in canada,

That said, she needs an appointment. Does she have one?

Also, while it would be nice to spend time with her in canada, I'm sure, there is no requirement that you be there for any of this process, so there is no need for you to waste vacation if it is not convenient.

She can get her TD visa, and enter US without your presence.

TD Visa Question!!

I just read your posting and seems to me I will be going through the same procedure...My wife is in Pakistan and is a Pakistan residence; will get the Cdn Immigration soon and I like to get her TD ASAP once she is in Toronto since I work in USA. I dont have enough vacations days to wait for her TD in toronto. My questions are what hurdles did you encounter while doing this procedure to be exact
1.Did you get the appointment and TD right away? or you have to wait for some time for some thing
2. Did Cdn Immigration raise this question about your home country bcz when I applied for my wife's immigration its writtern that you have to be in Canada when she lands; does that mean you have to live in canada or work in canada? bcz for me I have my one home in Toronto but working in USA
3. Could you please advise me what needs to be taken care of bcz I am in the same boat as once you were.

4. And yeah one more thing did you get your wife TD off Pakistan or in Toronto/
Guide me accordingly, I would really appreciate your help in this regard.
