TD to Work/Permanent Visa?

Hello,

I dont know if this is the correct forum, but here goes...

I am here in the US on a TN visa and my wife, of course, is on a TD visa.

She applied to a school here to work, but since she cannot legally work, the school is asking how to legally hire her. They are really eager to hire her and even willing to wait, so time is not a factor (although we would all like this to be quick).

She cannot hold a TN visa because, aside from teachers not being on the approved jobs list (as far as I know), she is not a Canadian citizen.

I am doing my own research, and it looks like the school can file a Labor Cert, then file her as an EB-2?

Am I correct?

Someone please enlighten me.

What youy are talking about is sponsorship for permanent residence.

See forums that discuss this aspect.

Not to discourage you but most schools shy away from any such sponsorship for budgetary reasons.

What type of school is she planning to teach at?
Elementary, Junior High and High Schools do not fall under NAFTA but teaching at a College level does.
