My wife's in the middle of the adjustment process; we're still waiting for her interview letter. It's tax filing time; lacking a SSN for my spouse (TurboTax won't let me file without a SSN for the spouse), what should we do so I can file jointly?

1) Apply for her TIN (Tax Identification Number)
2) File your taxes before 4/15 and later when your wife gets her SSN, you can go back & claim taxes for the last 3 yrs if you have been married for that long.
3) File extension and file your taxes as soon as she gets her TIN or SSN.
you can file form w7, application for ITIN, with your tax return, needs to be sent to a different address. that is what i did. i filed jointly with 1 child dependant, neither have ssn, applied itin for both, sent to austin tx itin operation address.
