I called my local IRS office and the representative ordered copies for the last 3 years of tax returns for free.

Do we get the same photo copy of the forms which we filed or in some other format? Are those be accepted at the INS ?

Getting copy

You get copies of W2 form for free. You have to fillup a form (see URL below). I paid them fees to get all additional docs (you never know what INS will ask).

It took more than 3 months (Reason: they read to get it from their storage area) to get my 1997 return but all other copies reached me within a month.

I have my w2 with me. I want a tax return receipt or some proof that i did file tax return which can be allowed by ins .
(Usually INS requests for EVL , w2 , tax returns.)

I paid them fees to get all additional docs (you never know what INS will ask).

you are right, you never know what ins will ask. Do you suggest any additional documents to be taken from IRS?

I always used Turbotax to file my taxes and I am confused what you meant by Tax receipt.
Do you get a written confirmation from IRS that they received a form ??? In Turbotax , I got e-confirmation and IRS deducts / deposits $$$ on a specified day.


Please help me !!!!!!

did you not take the print out of the filled in tax form that you filled in turbo tax and save it along with W2 copy ? That is what tax return transcript is.

Turbo tax and all other tax software saves the filing info on your computer. Go back and check for it and then print it.
