Hello Everyone! this is my 1st time on forum... and I would really be thankful to any responce to my question. Im applying for citizenship but I did my tax returns separately from my husband, as he owes money to the government so he hasn'd done his..Would it be a problem?? Thank you in advance to any responce

Did he atleast file for an extension? If he did then he did not break any laws. Thousands of people file extensions every year. If he did not then he has bigger problems, citizenship will be last of his worries.

Plus that will no way affect your petition. You just need to show proof of your returns.

how did u get your pr....
like he said i dont think there is any problem...

thank U problem 2006

Dear problem2006,
Thank you for your responce. Im filing the application under 3yrs rule being a spouse of USC. My husband has not done taxes for a couple of years and has not filed for an extension. We'll do it eventually but right now we can't afford it..I got my taxes done..but there is still a question mark in my head JOINT irs tax returns

IMO, You need to prove that you are still living with your husband and you are not divorced or seperated yet, to apply after 3 years.

Your husbands runins with IRS or the law is not USCIS concern.

They are evaluating whether you are of good moral chrarcter and you filed your taxes.

Hope this helps.
