Tax returns and wedding certificate always necessary for interview?

Hello. I have my citizenship interview in a couple of weeks. I'm married, but applying on basis of GC + 5 years. I have had my GC for more than 10 years (renewed my GC after 10 years also). My interview letter just asked for green card, passports and photographs. I keep seeing many threads here where people are talking about taking tax returns, wedding certificate, etc. If I'm not explicitly asked for these things, do I still need to take it? Please advise, thank you.

If you got married after getting your first GC, they'll probably ask for the marriage certificate at the naturalization interview, even though you're applying with the 5 year rule. And if your current marriage isn't your first marriage, they may also ask for the divorce decree for the previous marriage.

They usually don't ask for tax returns for 5-year applicants, unless they had extensive travel during the past 5 years or tax issues like back taxes or unfiled overdue returns.

It depends on how you got your GC. If it is through marrying US citizen, then you must take marriage certifying, photos and joint tax filing records. Anything to prove you both are living together and it is not a sham marriage will be helpful.
