Tax return transcripts

hello, since my spouse doesn't have any W2's we would like to get her tax return transcripts instead. she has changed her address starting january 2013 (moved to a different state), so her current address is not the same as on her most recent tax papers. thanks to this forum i have found out that in order to get those tax transcripts faster we can go to a local irs office and have them printed out there or call irs and ask them to have those papers faxed. so since her address has changed are we still able to use these 2 options or we have to fill out and send them 4056-T form first and wait 5-10 days to have them mailed to us? or should we just not tell them that her address is different now?

I got tax transcripts in person shortly after moving once. The representative from the IRS told me that they don't update your address until you file your taxes with the new address.

If you have the transcripts faxed, you can have it faxed to any number. If you do have it faxed: you will be asked for the SSN of the primary taxpayer (in case of married filling together); address on the return; date of birth (I think, I can't remember this one); the reason for your request; and the fax number. I once had them fax the transcripts to my wife's RightFax number which is located in a different state from us. No questions asked.

thank you very much for your help! is there any difference between tax transcripts we get in person and faxed ones? i guess faxed transcripts are copies only, and paper ones we get at the office are originals?
