Hi,
I'm reviewing my past tax records and have a few questions-
1. Will USCIS check the past 5 year's records, or since the year I became p/r which was 6 years ago?
2. I realized that I filed both my hubby's and my tax as "single" (I can't remember why, probably on some stupid advice of friends or something). I'm afraid that it might raise suspicion if USCIS got their hands on our returns in 2001.
3. My hubby and I got married in our home country. We got noterized legal marriage proof and everything. But we went on to get a US marriage license in NYC 2 years ago. Our friends advised that it's better to have a US license if we wanted jointly buy properties here. So we did. I now become afraid that this may also raise suspicion by USCIS if this came up in the name check they ran.
Please give your input. I want to have the least loose end in my n400 app as possible. Thanks!
