In the document checklist for the documents to be submitted with N-400, there is item#4 under the heading "If you are applying for Naturalization on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen"
4. Documents referring to you and your spouse:
• Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children, or
• Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past three years, or
• An IRS tax return transcript for the last three years.
My take is that we could satisfy just one of the above bullet point and within 1st bullet, we could just furnish any one of the items that are listed. Am I reading it correct?
Also, what is meant by the term "Tax Returns"? Just a copy of what we sent to IRS while filing Tax for the year? All the pages?
Not that I don't have more than one item. Just curious on how people interpret these instructions. For instance, if I have birth certificate of the kids, I shouldn't be sending anything else that is listed under #4.
