I mailed my N-400 yesterday. I have a question regarding Tax return documents that will be required during interview. Do I need cetrified copies of tax returns from IRS for last five years or will tax return transcripts be acceptable? IRS charges $39.00 per tax year for certified copies and it might take up to 2-months before I recieve it. Please advise.

Sorry for the dumb question. Could you explain what "Tax Transcripts" are and how and where to get them?

Tax Transcript

A tax return transcript shows most line items from your tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including any accompanying forms and schedules. Tax transcript can be ordered either by mail (IRS Form 4506T available at IRS web site) or over the phone (1-800-829-1040). There is no fee for this service.
