Hi all,
Just wanted to share my experience of talking with IIO.
I was very imapatient, after looking at some of the Oct postings, so I called.

After our initial greetings in the morning...
Asked for my case no.
me: EAC 02 044 *****

IIO: The data base is in a very slow state today. Give me a moment.
(it became fast).
Your address is xxx,xx..
me: yes mam..
IIO: your finger print was received. everythign looks ok.
we are currently doing sept 25th cases.
your case is under review..

me: can i find out if the case has been assigned, or picked up..
IIO: Sir, as I told you, the case is under review. and every thing looks ok.
(I am like, ok ok ok. pl. dont get pissed off.. after all u have my case in ur hand
Ok thanks very much...Bye bye.. Have a nice day.. ha ha you too...

Not very helpful I think. but just wanted to share the jist.

Guys,

I don't know if the IIO's phrase "assigned to an officer" means anything at all. I had called them on Aug 02nd... I was told the same reason.. I again called Sept 15th... again to be told about the same reason.. Why is the officer taking more than 45 days for one application review.. god know.!

So, what should one do in such situations.? It really gets on your nerve at times.!!

Girish is right !!!

I got the same reply from IIO when I called him last week.
He told me that my case is under review and I should hear something in 30 to 45 days. Then I asked them if it means that my case is assigned to an officer. He said 'that is correct' .
